January News

Happy New Year!

Baseball is just around the corner and the weather is heating up! (sort of)

If you have not already done so, now is the time to register for the 2016 OPRF Pony Baseball 2016 season. Payment can be made online. If registering online is not your thing, our first event will be Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 10am - 2pm at Longfellow Center at 610 S. Ridgeland in Oak Park.

Players are eligible if they live in or attend school in the following communities:

  • Oak Park
  • River Forest
  • Forest Park
  • Berwyn
  • Elmwood Park
  • Galewood/Bell-Sayre neighborhoods

OPRF Pony held its first of four fundraising events of the year on January 10th. There was a strong turnout in spite of the weather. OPRF Pony has partnered with Chicago Charitable Games to host four poker events in 2016. The next event will be Friday, February 26.

Winter Workouts

The Winter Workout program, run by Cori Herbert, over the past 8 weeks was a huge success and we hope to continue our relationship with the West Cook YMCA in future workouts, as well as Cori. Thanks to all that participated.

We need your help. OPRF Pony tries to reach as many households as possible through multiple channels, however, we often receive the response that "I didn't know". In an effort to get the word out that registration has begun, we ask you to please spread the word to friends and family in the area that might be interested in participating in our program. Every little bit helps.
