The bat restrictions for the 2017 House League are as follows:
- 2-5/8" and 2-1/2" barrel bats must not exceed "drop 8," which is the difference between the bat length (in inches) and the bat weight (in ounces). In other words, a bat that is 30 inches long must weigh 22 ounces or more; 31 inches, 23 ounces or more; and so on.
- There is no drop limit on 2-1/4" barrel bats.
More information on the 2017 House League rules can be found here.
In 2012, the Pony National organization, changed their rules: 2 3/4" bats are no longer legal and "drop 3" bats must be BBCOR approved.
An examination of BBCOR is available in this video.
For the Tournament/Travel program, the bat restrictions vary from tournament to tournament.
